Printable ring sizer

A finger strip, nine actual-size ring circles and a check ruler on one page. Print it, check it, cut it out.

Print at 100% scale, then check the ruler Choose "Actual size" or scale 100% in the print dialog and switch off "Fit to page". Printers and PDF viewers often shrink pages by 3–6% by default, which is enough to be a full size wrong. The 50 mm check ruler must measure exactly 50 mm on paper.

Using the circles

Place a ring that fits over the circles. The right size is the circle whose line sits just inside the ring's inner edge. Between two circles, go up. Then look it up on the international ring size chart if you shop in another country.

Prefer not to print?

The online ring sizer does the same thing on screen once you calibrate it with a bank card, and the paper-strip method needs only a ruler.

Questions people ask

How do I print the ring sizer at the right size?

In the print dialog set scale to 100% or "Actual size" and turn off "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit". After printing, measure the 50 mm check ruler with a real ruler. If it is not exactly 50 mm, the sizer is wrong and should not be used.

A4 or US Letter?

Either. The sizer fits inside the printable area of both A4 and US Letter paper in portrait orientation.

How do I use the paper strip?

Cut out the strip and the slit, wrap it around your finger with the numbers facing out, and thread the pointed end through the slit. Pull until snug but able to pass the knuckle, then read the US size at the edge of the slit.
